South West UK Pre-CHI 2025 provides an opportunity for researchers from the South West England and De Cymru Human-Computer Interaction Community (SWEDC-HCI) to come together to practice running their accepted CHI papers and work-in-progress research talks
The idea of the South West UK Pre-CHI Event is to provide an opportunity for researchers from the South West England and De Cymru Human-Computer Interaction Community (SWEDC-HCI) to come together to practice running their accepted CHI papers and work-in-progress research talks, as well as creating a smaller safe space for PhD Students to discuss their unpublished work in a doctorial consortium. We also aim to create a space for new research connections and the ability to discuss this research in a smaller circle. Due to it being a free event, it will provide an excellent opportunity for all researchers, regardless of experience, to get a taste of the quality of work presented at CHI, and network with peers. Therefore, everyone from students, professors and industry folks in the region interested in HCI will be welcome to attend.
Syniad Digwyddiad Cyn-CHI De-orllewin y DU yw rhoi cyfle i ymchwilwyr o Gymuned Rhyngweithio rhwng Pobl a Chyfrifiaduron De-orllewin Lloegr a De Cymru (SWEDC-HCI) ddod at ei gilydd i ymarfer cyflwyno eu papurau CHI derbyniedig a’r ymchwil sydd ar y gweill ganddyn nhw, yn ogystal â chreu lle diogel llai i fyfyrwyr PhD drafod eu gwaith sydd heb ei gyhoeddi mewn consortiwm doethurol. Rydyn ni hefyd yn bwriadu creu lle ar gyfer cysylltiadau ymchwil newydd a’r gallu i drafod yr ymchwil hon gyda llai o bobl. Oherwydd bod y digwyddiad yn rhad ac am ddim, bydd yn rhoi cyfle gwych i’r holl ymchwilwyr, waeth beth fo’u profiad, gael blas ar ansawdd y gwaith sy’n cael ei gyflwyno yn CHI a rhwydweithio ag ymchwilwyr eraill. Felly, bydd croeso i bawb, dim ots a ydych chi’n fyfyriwr, yn athro neu’n unigolyn o fyd diwydiant yn y rhanbarth sydd â diddordeb mewn Rhyngweithio rhwng Pobl a Chyfrifiaduron.
